Delete Your CardScope Account

This page explains how to request deletion of your CardScope account, what data is permanently removed, what is temporarily retained, and for how long.

How to Delete Your Account

You have two ways to request account deletion:

Option 1 — Delete in the CardScope app (recommended)

  1. Open the CardScope app and sign in.
  2. Tap the More tab at the bottom of the screen.
  3. Tap Profile.
  4. Scroll to the bottom to find the Danger Zone section.
  5. Tap Delete account and confirm when prompted.
  6. Your account is immediately scheduled for deletion. You have 30 days to cancel by contacting support.

Option 2 — Delete on this website

  1. Sign in at cardscope.aurasoft.co.uk/account.html.
  2. Scroll to the Danger Zone section at the bottom of your account page.
  3. Click Schedule deletion.
  4. Your account is immediately scheduled for deletion. You have 30 days to cancel if you change your mind.

Option 3 — Email request

  1. Send an email to cardscope.contact@aurasoft.co.uk with the subject: Account Deletion Request.
  2. Include the email address registered to your account.
  3. We will manually schedule your account for deletion and confirm by reply within 5 business days.

What Happens After You Request Deletion

Deletion is a two-stage process to allow for recovery if the request was made in error:

  1. Day 0: Your account is immediately marked as deleted. You can no longer sign in and your data is no longer accessible.
  2. Days 0–30 (grace period): Your data is soft-deleted — it exists in our database but cannot be accessed. If you change your mind, contact us within this window and we can restore your account.
  3. Day 30: All personal data is permanently and irreversibly deleted from our servers. This cannot be undone.

What Data is Deleted

Payment / purchase transaction records Retained — legal requirement 7 years (UK tax law)

Payment records (transaction IDs and purchase status) are retained for 7 years as required by UK tax law. These records do not contain your email address, name, or card data — only anonymised transaction identifiers.

Local Data on Your Device

CardScope stores your collection locally on your device. Deleting your account on our servers does not remove data from your device. To remove local data, uninstall the CardScope app from your device.

Cloud Sync Cancellation (separate from account deletion)

If you cancel your Cloud Sync subscription without deleting your account, your cloud-stored collection data is retained for 90 days after the subscription lapses. You will receive email reminders before data is wiped. Resubscribing within this period fully restores your data.
